Fort is type design studio based out of Athens, Georgia and operated by Mattox Shuler. It began as side-project in early 2013 with the release of Bourbon, but quickly turned into a full-time endeavor with each release making their way onto “Hot New Fonts” lists. 

The idea behind the name comes from building forts as a kid. No matter the shape or size, they were places filled with creativity, fun, and adventure. Fort is made in that same vein as we explore creating type. Building Forts was always more fun with friends, so this year marks a shift where new families will also be coming from new designers.
